Welcome! This website is the result of one of the most stressful times in my entire life. My son, who has Asperger's Syndrome, suddenly developed PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder Associated with Strep) when he was 13 years old. I wouldn't wish this disorder on my worst enemy! He was unable to attend school so I left my job as an elementary school music teacher to care for him full time. I spent every moment I could researching how to help him, how to still contribute financially to our household, and how to cope with the overabundance of unknowns surrounding our lives. Nobody does more research than a parent with a sick child! Six years later, we're still chugging along!

Full disclosure, I actually have special needs of my own! I have ADHD (nobody is surprised, haha) and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I also have Essential Tremor, which unfortunately causes me to have all sorts of cognitive issues on top of annoying shaking. So as I research for my son, I’m actually finding some great stuff for me as well!

Admittedly, this site is still a work in progress. Between doctor’s appointments, paying bills, cleaning (or trying to), cooking (or ordering pizza), laundry, and all the million other things to do, it probably always will be! So, please subscribe so you receive updates on new material as it’s added. Thanks for visiting and feel free to stay a while!
